Taking care of your teeth and dental health starts with seeing your dentist for check-ups every six months to detect potential problems before they get serious. Dental check-ups are an important preventative health measure that should be routine for every member of the family.General dentistry at Atria Dental® involves a thorough dental examination with scaling and x-rays as needed so that we have a full picture of your oral health. This way, we can tailor your treatment plan based on what is best for you.
Our experienced team at Atria Dental® has over 20 years’ experience in dentistry and aims to provide all patients with a supportive and relaxing environment they feel comfortable returning to for check-ups. We understand that some patients and children may be nervous, anxious, or phobic about seeing the dentist. That’s why we prioritise maintaining our clinic as a calm, comfortable space where questions are encouraged and every team member is compassionate.
The routine dental health appointment many of us know as a “check-up and clean” is a very important preventative health measure for people of all ages. These sessions involve a comprehensive dental examination where your dentist will thoroughly examine your mouth to check the health of your teeth, gums and oral tissues. Dental x-rays may be used to better evaluate your oral health and diagnose potential problems that cannot be detected by the naked eye alone.
This is followed by a clean of your teeth and gums which involves dental scaling, a pain-free and non-surgical procedure that leaves patients feeling like their teeth have been “deep-cleaned”. During this procedure, your dentist removes all the plaque and tartar (hardened plaque) above and below the gumline.
Removing plaque or tartar build-up helps reduce your chances of getting cavities. Once your teeth are cleaned, they are polished and any stains are removed to maintain your oral hygiene.
While brushing and flossing your teeth daily is essential, your biannual (every six months) dental check-up is equally important for the following reasons.
Early detection of dental issues: during your appointment, your dentist can detect early signs of dental issues so that you can address them before they progress, saving you the hassle and expensive treatment.
