Pulpotomy and Pulpectomy
Restore and Save Your Child's Teeth

Pulpotomies and pulpectomies are healthy procedures that are safe and effective that restore your child’s teeth to their healthy state. It is one of the common procedures to treat severe tooth decay or infection.

If your child is experiencing inflammation or trauma on certain are of the tooth, we recommend them getting thoroughly checked and treated to prevent the extent of infection.

Pulpotomy and Pulpectomy
What Does the Process Involve?

Pulpotomy is used if the decay or trauma is confined to the top part of the tooth structure called the crown. This process will involve removing the inflamed pulp chamber while maintaining the living tooth root intact.

Pulpectomy procedure is carried out if the infection involves both the crown and the root part of tooth. This procedure requires thorough cleansing and disinfection of the pulp chamber and root and finishing off with sealing the tooth.

Both the procedures are less invasive than a root canal treatment. Which one we recommend will depend on the intensity of your child’s dental decay or trauma.

We recommend getting in touch with one of our paediatric dentists to find out the options for protecting your child’s tooth at a minimal discomfort.

If your child is experiencing an acute toothache or inflammation, book an appointment with our children’s dentist today.
