When is Endodontic Treatment Necessary?

Endodontics, which involves the use of endocrowns, treats damaged dental pulp, the centre (root) of the tooth comprised of connective tissue, nerves, blood vessels, and cells. Issues like severe tooth decay and infections that affect the tooth enamel (the outer layer) can lead to damaged or diseased dental pulp. Left untreated, the damaged tooth pulp can cause immense pain, swelling, eventual tooth loss and if infected, the bacteria can spread to the jaw bone and other parts of the body.
